Wilderness photography by Martin Hawes

These photographs of Tasmania's wilderness and other wild areas represent the best of my work over a period of 45 years. Many of these photos show remote, trackless locations that have been rarely visited by humans in the past 250 years. I've kept some captions intentionally vague to protect the wild character of trackless and environmentally sensitive areas.

I pay respect to the palawa/Tasmanian Aboriginal people as the original and traditional owners and continuing custodians of lutruwita/Tasmania, and acknowledge Elders past, present and emerging.
